What’s certification for selling Solar water heater in USA market?
Does government have one peremptory certification? If have, what’s it? If apply for government allowance, what document should be asked?
How much for this certification if there is one?
Until regulations catch up with technology, solar installations will fit into a gray area as do some air conditioning and plumbing applications.
Strictly speaking, to the extent that plumbing is involved a plumbing license would be required and a plumbing inspection should take place. To the extent that electrical work is required an electrical license is required and an electrical inspection should take place.
Currently plumbers install boilers all the time and the electrical connections do manage to be completed although electricians are not present and on most residential jobs no separate electrical inspection is done. I have seen central air conditioning installed without an electrician ever present on the job and no inspection

solar panels water heaters?
I was wondering if anyone knew about a solar company that went out of business maybe 10 years ago. I’m doing a project for my school and don’t know the company that donated solar panels to us. I found out they went out of business so they don’t have a website. The solar panels themselves wer donated 15-20 years ago. Thanks for your help.
I would find out the name of the panels, like if they have a brand name or a company’s name on them, and ask a company that is currently operating in your area. Preferrably one who has been around for a while. They might be able to answer your questions or give you a suggestion on what to do next. They may even be willing to sponsor a project if you play your cards right!

what kind of cheap thermostat could I use to control a passive solar water heater for my hot tub?
I want to build a batch heater or a passive coil system on a painted black corrugated metal backing. But I want to be able to stop the flow when the water gets to a set temp. It would be great to be able to just put in a car radiator thermostat but it would allow the water to get too hot.
Hello flagnsnarf:
You may need to install a low-voltage transformer with a thermostat and a solenoid valve. An automotive thermostat has too high a temperature setting.

The topic on everyone’s lips these days is how to build a solar water heater. With the continual rising overhead associated with the energy crisis, it rightfully should be the focus of conversation.
It is wholly within the grasp of anyone who is vaguely familiar with hand tools to fashion a home made version of a solar water heater. The construction of such a project is not complicated in the least. In addition to saving a significant sum of money, you will also be contributing towards a green environment. Even though you will see a vast number of diverse designs, most of them are moderately straightforward to build and the project would be a great DIY improvement for your home.
