Can solar car chargers work without having the key to the car turned to accessory?
I am thinking of installing a solar trickle charger in my car. Most of them have a cigarette lighter plug-in for easy installation.
But I am not sure they will actually charge the battery. I cannot get power to the cigarette lighter plug-ins without having the key turned to “accessory”. If I were to plug in a solar charger, I am afraid that it would not work, simply because no complete circuit to the battery exists while the key is not in the ignition.
There are chargers that connect to the battery using alligator clips. But these mean running a separate line to the battery. Is there a solution to this seemingly simple problem?

About a solar charger…?
i am making a solar usb charger as a weekend project. i am using 4 solar panels out of a solar powered garden light when i open the solar panel i noticed there are two wires one was green and the other was red i am a bit confused because there are normally one black and one red wire so can you tell me which wire is which. for example is the green wire negative and the red wire positive or is it the other way around

the red one is the positive& the green wire is the negative.

Is it possible to get a solar powered phone charger?
They do exist but they need FULL SUN for about five hours to work properly. They are fairly new and I can imagine will improve over the next few years.

mobile solar energy
i want to make a mobile phone project which works with solar energy and without sim.please guide me?

Can i use a solar charger to charge my pannasonic lumix Li-ion battery pack ?
I have a pannasonic DMC-LX2 and am taking it away with me, i’ll be using a solar charger to charge everything else but i cant find one that is compatible with the battery pack. Do you know if i can solar charge a battery pack ?
I don’t think so yet, here are some other solar charger though.
But none made for what you need at the moment sorry!
