Is it better to recharge batteries in series or in parallel?
I have 2 6-volt rechargeable lantern batteries, and 1 6-volt solar panel.
Would it be better to recharge then in series or in parallel?
I asked this 3 times in the environmental groups and never got a single answer, so maybe one of these “scientifically enlightened” evolutionist can answer. I will just have to make sure I do the opposite of what they say so that I will have it right.
You can charge batteries in either series or parallel – the issue is not just the method of connection but also the voltage you can apply.
Two 6-volt batteries connected in parallel requires 6 volts of charge because each battery “sees” the charger individually. In series, they need 12 volts to charge because the charging current passes through both batteries before completing the circuit.

here is what i think he meant
-put one wire from the positive to the negative connecting each side of the panel ( then connect the female usb to the other side then you have done)

The video is good, and the concept is doable. The view of the four cells shows exactly how to wire it. It is nearly impossible to put it in print, you need a wiring diagram.
