completely solar powered attic fans?
i’m looking into solar powered attic exhaust fans, gable and roof
any suggestions on specific fans that you know work well?
i’ve looked up a few but i’m worried about being able to aim the solar panels at the sun, having the thermostat on it set, and if it is worth the money
The easiest to install would be a gable end vent. Remove the existing end vent, install the new one, perhaps trim it out to look good.
Keep the solor panel vertical, this will keep snow and road grime off it. Don’t worry about aiming it. Most panels need sunlight, not direct sunlight.
I wouldn’t use the thermostat feature. There is just as great a need to vent the attic during the cold season as there is during the warm season.

Will outdoor solar lighting charge properly if they are placed in a semi-shaded area?
I would like to place them under my carport which is covered by a lattice screen. Will they get enough indirect sunlight there to make them work properly?
They will not charge fully and therefore will not be as bright or last as long as normal.

With gas being $4 per gallon, how is wind power going to help me get to work? Strap a huge fan to my tailgate?
I know the nation is an fuel crisis, not an energy crisis people. I don’t have a solar car so the sun is going to be no help in getting to the grocery store. What is America supposed to do to get these gas prices down? I feel raped when I pull away from the pumps. The politicians have no control over the prices. The big 5 oil compaines are just stuffing their pockets and the people keep paying the price because WE DON’T HAVE A CHOICE.

Is there a small solar panel available that would provide enough power to run a small space heater or fan?
I live in a townhouse and the association doesn’t allow roof top solar panels or anything that is visible from the street.
I found one here that can deliver 1.25 amps at 120V. This may just run a small fan, but you would need 10 of them to run a small space heater. I guess it would be your call……… Hope this helps.
