Solar powered landscape lighting is becoming very popular these days and was even featured on Good Morning America, August 28, 2008. There is really no reason to use traditional wired landscape lighting unless there are areas of the garden that just do not get enough sunlight. Solar lighting is powered by the sun and must have some sunlight in order to operate properly. Five hours of sunlight is usually enough to keep the battery charged and ready for operation come nightfall. The lights use a photoelectric cell that turns them on at dusk and off in the morning.
Solar Lights are made from a variety of materials, such as plastic, metal or stainless steel. The lighting mechanism is almost always LED lights. How to calculate the size of solar absorber plate?
In order to design a solar absorption refrigeration system, I had determine the total cooling load needed for the refrigeration system. The heat that needed to absorbed from the evaporator is approximately 35000 kJ/day. I had face the problem to determine the suitable types of solar collector and how to calculate the size needed for the absorber plate?
every solar panel can make a certain value of electrical energy depends on the manufacturer and type of the panel. so you should select the right one from the catalogue of the certain manufacturer by the wattage of that panel for every unit of it. for example a unit may be a 1 cm*1 cm panel that produce 2 watts. so you can calculate the total size of the panel!

You could use a National Simple Switcher in a Boost configuration. Then use a pulse width modulator to give you the AC. However, unless you have lots of solar cells you aren’t going to get very far.
